Travel smarter.

While at Mosquito Digital in 2016, I had the opportunity to design the Manchester Airport app — a project I was eager to take on. As the sole designer, I worked closely with the Manchester Airport team to concept, design, and deliver a user-focused mobile experience.

The project involved extensive collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation, and it was my responsibility to capture their requirements and translate them into clear, practical solutions. One of the app’s core propositions was offering discounted pre-booked parking, so a major focus was designing a seamless journey that made it easy for users to find the right car park, book, and pay with minimal friction.

Improving the passenger experience within the airport was equally important. Users could add their flights to a personalised dashboard and receive timely, context-relevant information throughout their journey. Additional features included browsing airport shops, bars, and restaurants on the move, purchasing FastTrack security, and booking access to Manchester Airport’s Escape Lounges.

Following a corporate restructure within Manchester Airport Group and the formation of MAGO, the app was eventually sunsetted. Despite this, it remains one of the most high-profile and insightful projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on, and one that significantly shaped my approach to large-scale, stakeholder-driven product design.
